Welcome to the debut of the Sunday Funnies, a regular semi-regular occasional whenever I can feature to add a little fun to our days. So just in time for the closing ceremonies, here’s Sir Patrick Stewart (aka Jean Luc Picard for all you Trekkies) as a Dickensian character scalping tickets for the 2012 London Olympics, mixing it up with Simon Pegg and swimmer Ryan Lochte. Enjoy the Sunday Funnies! (You’ll want to turn the sound up after the 15-second ad.) OK, so I’m not getting to watch much of the Olympics over here. Partly because I’m busy, but mostly because EuroSport only seems to show it live. I watched a bit of women’s luge last night, and two men’s ice skating rounds, but was falling asleep. It was 12:30 a.m. and I couldn’t manage it any later. And having British commentators is weird. I got a good laugh today with a link (from, of all places, the New England Genealogical and Historical Society!) to Crib Notes on Canada, from a Canadian, , telling Americans what the rest of Canada is really like. Reminds me lot of my tongue-in-cheek book on Irish History. Go check it out and smile!
